EPS has a long history of providing purchased and rented installations. From initial site visits, through the design process, mechanical installation and on to commission and hand-over, our team of experienced technicians understands the process and the requirements of AV systems. Whether you require a bespoke integrated AV system, or a simple PA system for live bands, EPS is able to specify and supply appropriate product, infrastructure and personnel to make your project a success. We work closely with other contractors on all projects to ensure a cohesive approach and maintain the schedule that has been agreed.
Safety is paramount when working on installation sites and our team holds numerous relevant qualifications. We require all our personnel visiting site to hold CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) cards.
A member of our installation project management team will visit your premises or site for an initial meeting and site visit, making notes of your requirements and taking photographs of work to date. From this, they will produce a client brief (unless you already have one) and initial installation proposal for you to authorize.
Once the brief and initial proposal have been finalized and signed off by both the customer and the EPS Project Manager, a final proposal with specification and quotation will be produced, along with system drawings. Once this has been agreed, work can start based around your schedule and that of your other contractors.
Working versions of documents can be available in the Cloud where required, for reference by all parties throughout the project.
After practical completion, commission and hand-over, an ‘as-built’ document will be prepared for you, with full documentation for all product and infrastructure installed, as well as details of any warranties and service contracts agreed.
You will deal with the same Project Manager from inception to completion to ensure continuity and accuracy.
We have offered customers the option of either purchased or rented installations since we began providing installation services. This is in recognition that one size does not fit all, and that different sectors suit different approaches.
For example, in a live music venue we would recommend a rented installation: the equipment gets used very regularly, can often be abused and thus need regular service and repair, and requirements of touring engineers can change rapidly as technology evolves. However, in a corporate setting, such as a school hall, a purchased system may be more appropriate – the demands on the equipment are lower, so that an annual service may suffice; and requirements are unlikely to change for long periods.

Many small venues simply cannot afford to employ a Head Technician to take care of maintenance and regular servicing, without which equipment can quickly start to fail or look tired. EPS can offer affordable service contracts providing your venue with an annual service, equipment repair and inclusive Emergency and Non-emergency call-outs, and we can provide 24-hour cover. Included in our contracts are free loan equipment whilst yours is being fixed or replaced, and we can include workshop labour if required.
An annual service ensures that at least once per year, amplifiers have their vents cleared, wall mounted volume controls are checked for smooth response, an inventory of all the equipment is completed, equipment is PAT tester, and other preventative maintenance can be done. All our service contracts include an annual service - this reduces your venue’s downtime and our call outs to fix your equipment!
Should you require the configuration of your venue control system to change, our service technicians can often provide this during an annual service. We also have BSS Soundweb and Symetrix SymNet programmers available for emergency call-outs.
Alternatively, if you do not feel a service contract is of value to your business, we offer a ‘break and fix’ call-out service, with fees as detailed below.
From our base in Little Milton, Oxfordshire, we can service and repair your event equipment. Our specially built "Service Room” is home to our in-house repair technicians who oversee our rental stock, and will service your equipment to the same standard as if it was our own. All electrical equipment will be tested and returned to you with an up-to-date PAT certificate from our qualified tester.
We charge a standard £35 inspection fee for all equipment service and repair, whether or not you wish to go ahead with the repair. Should you go ahead, this fee is deducted from the total. Equipment should be delivered to and collected from our base in Oxfordshire, though we can often arrange an up-lift from your venue for large items. We are travelling between Oxford - London and Oxford - Southampton on a weekly basis.
Our qualified PAT technicians are available to test you equipment both at our service facility and on-site at your premises. We will provide you with a certificate and spreadsheet detailing all assets, and their PASS or FAIL status. In many cases, we can affect an immediate repair to failed items and re-test, ensuring minimal downtime for your equipment. We are not limited to testing event equipment, and can test any mains electrical item in your premises.
EPS charges between £2 and £4 per item tested, dependant on quantity. Repairs are chargeable; however we will retest the repaired item free of charge if it is during the same visit. Alternatively, if we are unable to repair on site but will be able to in our service facility, the equipment will be PAT tested as part of our standard repair process.
